New clients are assigned to one of our actuaries who is responsible
for all of the work for that client. This consultant will generally
complete all phases of each project, and the client will work directly
with him or her. There are no middlemen or salesmen.
A service agreement letter is prepared for each
client, outlining services provided and fees to be charged.
All projects are reviewed by another consultant to insure
accuracy. The reviewer serves as a backup consultant who is familiar
with your plan and who can answer questions if your assigned consultant
is not immediately available.
Do you sell investment or insurance products
for retirement plans?
No. We are completely independent of all financial
institutions and do not sell or promote any investment or insurance products.
Plan sponsors select the investment vehicles or advisors for their plans'
retirement assets. We are an independent company that provides actuarial,
administrative and record-keeping services.
Most financial institutions do not offer defined benefit
retirement plan design or servicing. And even if they offer 401(k)
or defined contribution plan services, their real business is still investing.
Some other consulting and pension administration firms
handle defined benefit plan services, but the emphasis for most
is 401(k) plans and other defined contribution plans. Many such companies
have formed alliances with financial firms. Other, usually national,
firms limit their defined benefit plan clients to only very large
businesses.
By contrast, we:
Remain independent of financial institutions and are employee-owned
Do not sell or recommend investments
Concentrate on defined benefit plans and actuarial
services
Work with businesses of all types and sizes
Give our clients direct access to the actuaries who "crunch
the numbers" and know the answers
